A Sarnia instrumentation company is breathing new life into the former Dow Recreation Centre.

Langtree Controls Ltd. plans to consolidate its two Sarnia offices into the building near the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park.

“We have grown beyond the space in this office,” manager and partner Alpesh Patel said of the Vidal Street headquarters. “It was always our intention to get all of us under one roof.”

Langtree will occupy about 60% of the building. The plan is to renovate the 20,000-square-foot area this summer with a tentative move-in this fall, he said.

The parkland-like setting and ambiance made the space appealing for the company’s 62-member staff, which is comprised mainly of engineers and designers, Patel said.

Formed in 1992, Langtree services local and international clients, including Labatt Brewing Company, Patel said.

The space will be outfitted with offices and larger, open spaces for team projects.
