New library curbside pickup service proving popular

The Lambton County Library loaned out 4,317 items to more than 1,200 borrowers during the first week of its new contactless curbside pickup service.

Thirteen branches are participating include Bright's Grove and Mallroad in Sarnia, Corunna and Point Edward. The downtown Sarnia branch is undergoing renovations and not available.

Cardholders can reserves titles by calling a branch or online at lclibrary.ca and will receive a phone call when their books and DVDs are ready.

COVID-19 safety measures include designated parking spaces and updated hygiene procedures for staff.

"We have heard from many patrons that they miss their trips to their local library," said manager Darlene Coke. "We are pleased to see a strong response to this new service."
