The International Symphony Orchestra is opening its 58th season with a colourful production called The Mystical East.

Guest artists for the Oct. 16 show at the Imperial Theatre are members of The Light of the East, an instrumental ensemble from London that perform Near and Middle Eastern music, including Arabic, Greek and Egyptian.

The musicians come from different backgrounds but share a love for hypnotic, mystical music that’s been heard on various CBC programs.

Adding a visual component to the evening will be belly dancer Lauren Jalbert, and ISO musicians will play works by Alexander Borodin.

The Mystical East goes Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. Individual tickets, adults $34, seniors $32, and students $12, available at the Symphony Office, 251 N. Vidal St., by calling 519-337-7775, or email [email protected]
