More mosquitos test positive for West Nile

Published on

Mosquitos collected from a Corunna trap on Aug. 23 tested positive for West Nile virus, according to Lambton Public Health.

This is the third confirmed case of West Nile found in Lambton this summer. A mosquito pool in Wyoming and a crow in Sarnia tested positive for the virus earlier this season.

Bites by infected mosquitos can spread West Nile to humans.

To reduce your rick:

– Take precautions to avoid mosquitos and bites

– Reduce mosquito breeding spots around your house

– Report dead bird sightings
