Sarnia’s Laura Dally has been named Outstanding Player of the Year in women’s basketball by the Canada West Universities Athletic Association.

The Bright’s Grove native led the University of Saskatchewan to a conference leading 18-2 regular season mark, and finished third in Canada West scoring with 344 points.

The Northern Collegiate grad was also first in free throw percentage and third in three-pointers.

Led by Dally, the Huskies were ranked either No. 1 or 2 in the CIS top 10 all season long.

"Laura has had an amazing season and we are so proud of how she has continued to improve her overall game,” Saskatchewan head coach Lisa Thomaidis told Canada West Communications.

“She has become much more than just an outstanding shooter, and this is a reflection of the countless hours that she puts into her game.”
