A rezoning application from Stoke’s Bay Grill & Bar to open a craft brewery has been approval by City Hall.

The restaurant on Harbour Road overlooking Sarnia Bay plans to redesign the interior to accommodate a small brewery in the west end of the building, as well as a taproom and small retail store offering its new brews.

The owners say they are hiring a brewmaster and will consult with customers in the development process.

With the adjacent Centennial Park now refurbished and other new developments underway, the time is right for another microbrewery in Sarnia, co-owner Chris Pavli has said.

The proposal did not draw any objections from neighbouring property owners.
