Masterworks exhibition extended

Some say the best way to appreciate this Salvador Dali painting on display in downtown Sarnia is to lie down on the floor. The four-metre-high Santiago El Grande has proven a showstopper at Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery. Glenn Ogilvie

It’s last call to see some great art in downtown Sarnia.

Due to strong demand, the Masterworks of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery exhibition has been extended for one week, to Feb. 15.

More than 12,000 people from Canada, the U.S. and Australia have visited the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery since Oct. 2, and nearly every exhibition-related programs offer at the gallery has sold out, officials say.

The show features 75 works from renowned Canadian and international master, including the massive Santiago El Grande by Salvador Dali.

Tickets, which must be booked in advance, are free, but visitors are asked to pay what they can.
