Masters swimmer wins more medals in the pool

Sarnia’s Sue Weir won a fistful of medals at the U.S. National Senior Games in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Competing in the 60-64 age group, she took silver in the 50-yard backstroke, 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard butterfly at the games, which were held June 14-25.

The Sarnia Rapids head coach also won bronze in the 50-yard freestyle and in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke.

Weir competed against more than 850 other swimmers at the games, which attracted 13,000 athletes.

She is a member of the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame.
