Sarnia’s Michael Marinaro and partner Kirsten Moore-Towers will arrive on a high note at the Skate Canada Internationals in Laval, Quebec on Oct. 26.

The pairs figure skating team has won two straight silver medals on the international circuit, including a come-from-behind second place showing at the Finlandia Trophy on Oct. 5-7.

They stood in third after the short program and moved up after winning the free skate in Helsinki.

Russian skaters finished first and third.

“We felt good about our competition but we had mistakes in both programs,” Moore-Towers told Skate Canada.

“Our goal was to have an improvement from the Autumn Classic International and we definitely did that.”

Marinaro and Moore-Towers took silver at the Autumn Classic in Oakville, Ont. two weeks earlier.
