Man’s would-be meal ticket scratched by police

Published on

A Sarnia man who got a buddy to cash in lottery tickets he’d allegedly stolen has been charged.

Sarnia Police say the man picked out a quantity of scratch tickets at an Indian Road gas bar on Jan. 29 and ran out the door without paying.

When a different man tried to cash the winning tickets he was arrested for possession of stolen property.

However, police determined the second man had been used and released him unconditionally.

Officers then arrested a 20-year-old at his Devine Street home and charged him with theft and breach of probation.
