Residents can return their long overdue library materials, guilt free, during a two-week amnesty starting May 2.

The amnesty applies to overdue books, CDs and DVDs, which can be returned to any of Lambton’s 26 branch libraries.

Associated and outstanding fines will be forgiven, and patrons will again be allowed to use their library cards.

"Lambton County Library wants its books back, but more importantly, it wants its borrowers back," said technical services manager Krystyna Stalmach.

"Nothing should stop the public from accessing the great services available at the library, not even the wall of late fees."

Patrons are asked to return the items to the library information desk in order to clear their records.
