Re: Church concert reunites residents, staff impacted by Fairwinds Fire

I would like to thank everyone involved with organizing and arranging a wonderful concert and reception Feb. 18 at Grace United Church. Just to show the love and support of the community to Fairwinds residents, families and staff.

It couldn’t have been nicer in any way.

The concert was wonderful, with a lot of local talent.

Solos and duets of singers, alto sax, one group of a flute, piano and violin; a duet with two clarinets; a young girl doing a trumpet solo; Grace United Choir and a smaller local choir.

It ended with everyone singing, “What the World Needs Is Love” and “over the Rainbow.”

The best part was the special friendships reunited, many not knowing where their friends ended up after the fire.

A lot of hugging and exchanging phone numbers. Like School children.

Apparently many did go to school together, as as the time SCITS was the only high school.

Nice to see so many active 80+’s doing well, very active and looking good.
