Brandon Layman of the Sarnia Legionnaires was a runner-up for the Western Ontario Hockey Conference's Most Valuable Player Award for 2016.

Layman, shown here being congratulted by team assistant general manager Jim Drexler, had 52 points in 50 games.

Just two years ago, in his rookie season, he scored only one goal.
