Learn how to get your home ready for an emergency

Published on

Sarnians can learn how to prepare their household for an emergency at the Clearwater Arena on May 5.

Emergency Preparedness Day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers information on such things as how to assemble a 72-hour supply kit with food, water and other necessities, while showcasing the equipment and techniques of emergency responders.

“When households are well-prepared and self-sufficient it allows responders and municipal officials to focus on the most urgent issues during a crisis,” said Dean Edwardson, general manager of CAER.

A barbecue lunch, served by local dignitaries, will be available for a $2 donation to the Salvation Army, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
