Lawn Bowling Club holding Open House events

The Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club opens its season this month, and newcomers are encouraged to come try out the sport. A series of Open House events are planned at the Germain Park location, on May 18 (2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.); May 19 (2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

The Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club opens its season this month, and newcomers are encouraged to come try out the sport.

A series of Open House events are planned at the Germain Park location, on May 18 (2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.); May 19 (2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.); and May 22 (2-4 p.m.).

Bowls are supplied for beginners, along with friendly instruction.

Opening day for club bowling is May 21 at 1 p.m., with the first tournament, the Mott Memorial, taking place May 23. The regular weekly schedule includes mixed social games on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, plus ladies or men’s bowling on Mondays.

The club will also celebrate its 110-year anniversary with a special tournament on the Civic Holiday weekend this summer.
