Local gamers can compete for cash prizes and scholarships at the Lambton College Esports Open, running March 27–29. The tournament features competitive showdowns in FIFA 20, NHL 20, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros.

Local gamers can compete for cash prizes and scholarships at the Lambton College Esports Open, running March 27–29. The tournament features competitive showdowns in FIFA 20, NHL 20, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles, Fortnite Solos, and Rocket League Duos. It’s organized by students in the esports entrepreneurship & administration program and coincides with the college’s annual spring open house. All gamers are welcome, with prizes of $750 to $1,000 available, depending on entry pool, as well as select scholarships. Entry fees are $30 a player for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Rocket League, while Fortnite starts at $40. Pizza and refreshments are included. Lambton’s annual spring open house takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28.
