When Len Leiffer took this photo of 1115 Lakeshore Rd. in the early 1970s colour film was still a novelty and children on a hot summer day rode bicycles down to the corner store to swap baseball cards and eat Popsicles.
Lake Shore Variety was owned by Peter and Bea Hinton and sold a little of everything: groceries, china, magazines, gifts, confectionery, toys, souvenirs, greeting cards and tourist supplies.
To the left is The Royal Bank of Canada branch, still in operation today as RBC.
