Rearguard Jeff King has been chosen to compete in the Chicago Blackhawks’ rookie tournament in Traverse City, Michigan.

The 20-year-old, who was a 10th round selection by the Sting in 2012 after playing for the Lambton Jr. Sting, has become a mainstay on the Sarnia blueline the past several seasons.

Last year, he recorded six goals and added 27 assists in 64 games and was among the league leaders in the plus/minus category at plus 29.

The Hawks’ tournament opens on Sept. 16.
