Imperials win again

Published on

The Sarnia Imperials have picked up right where they left off last year.

Sarnia downed the Sault Ste. Marie Steelers 17-0 in the Sault on June 4 to extend its record to 2-0 on the young Northern Football Conference season.

Quarterback Pat Wright passed for two touchdowns and the Imperials’ stingy defence gave up just 110 yards rushing.

The win marked the first time in 11 years Sarnia has beaten Sault St. Marie.

The Imperials next game is June 18 when they will host the Steelers in a repeat match at Norm Perry Park.

Kickoff is 7 p.m.
