Updated: House fire on Durand Street deemed "suspicious"

Sarnia Fire & Rescue Services responded to a house fire this morning on Durand Street.

No details were immediately available, but the street was blocked off as firefighters battled the blaze at 136 Durand, a two-storey brick home that was extensively damaged.

The home is located between Christina Street and London Road School.

Shortly after 11 a.m., a Sarnia Police officer came across smoke billowing from the front of the residence.

The Sarnia Fire Department is investigating the incident, which appears to be suspicious, Sarnia Police said.
