It will be a runway show for the ages when more than 30 women walk down the aisle June 6 at St. Paul’s United Church “Remembering When” bridal fashion show.
“We have 125 years of bridal gowns, going back to the 1800s,” said organizer Shirley Martin, adding that all of the dresses are from women who were married in, or affiliated with St. Paul’s Church.
The church is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.
“I called around to see if anyone still had their dresses, and, low and behold, they do,” Martin said.
A few women will be wearing their own gowns, while others will be worn by daughters, granddaughters or other church members.
“I haven’t got a prayer with mine,” she said, pointing to her 1964 gown. “I don’t even think the gloves will fit.”
The event begins at 2 p.m., with appetizers and refreshments to follow. Tickets are $5.
