Habitat break-in thief sought

Habitat for Humanity was offering a $1,000 reward to help catch and convict the thieves who broke into a trailer and removed $7,500 worth of hand and power tools on June 21.

The theft at the ReStore on London Line is a blow to charity’s volunteer home building program because “every drill, saw, nailer and hand tool that they could squeeze out of the door was stolen,” said executive director Sarah Reaume.

It was the sixth break-in Habitat has suffered since last fall.

“Our board feels that someone out there is aware of who is perpetrating these crimes,” said president David Butler.
