Greekfest has found a home downtown.
The annual celebration of Greek culture will held for the next five years at the Parkway parking lot beside Scotiabank, city council agreed last week.
Organizers had made the request following a successful trial move to the downtown last August from the event’s home at St. Demetrios Orthodox Church on Murphy Road.
Organizers will need to notify nearby merchants and all downtown bars and restaurants two months in advance and apply for a noise exemption each year.
This summer’s Greekfest will be held the weekend of Aug. 5-7.
