Funding sought for Agora seating and library lift

Published on

Sarnia will ask Ottawa for funding to add seats and shading to the Suncor Agora in Centennial Park.

The federal government is currently taking applications for projects to improve accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities.

If Ottawa agrees, the city would install seating and some sort of shade or shelter at the Agora, where people currently watch performances from a large expanse of concrete.

Gallery in the Grove is also asking for funds to add an extension and elevator lift to the second floor at the Bright’s Grove library and art gallery.

Applicants must provide at least 35% of the cost of the projects.
