Residents near NOVA Chemicals’ Corunna facility can expect increased noise and elevated flaring for the next week as the site begins the process of shutting down to conduct maintenance on process equipment.
The company issued the notice via Lambton Alerts, adding that flares, “are important safety devices that safely burn excess hydrocarbon gases that cannot be recovered or recycled.”
