Five local students advance to national science fair

Five local students will attend the Canada Wide Science Fair after wowing judges with their entries at the Lambton County Science Fair. They are: * Devarsh Shah, for a project called “A Novel Quartz Crystal Microbalance Biosensor.

Five local students will attend the Canada Wide Science Fair after wowing judges with their entries at the Lambton County Science Fair. They are:

* Devarsh Shah, for a project called “A Novel Quartz Crystal Microbalance Biosensor.”

* Kendra Prasad and Hannah McInnis for “Relationships Between Cannabis, Brain Injury, and Sleep.”

* Mavi Deol, for “A Novel Approach to Restore Connectivity in Damaged Spinal Nerve Systems.”

* Kiran Prasad for “3rd World Vision.”

Although not old enough to qualify for the national fair May 16-19 in Ottawa, Katelyn Haggerty won a Best in Fair Honourable Mention for her project “Death By Bling.”

The 45th annual local science fair was one of the largest in recent memory with 130 students and 95 projects competing for more than $5,000 in cash prizes.
