Grain grown by Lambton County farmers is loaded into the hold of the bulk carrier Manitoulin at the Cargill Aghorizons elevator at Sarnia Harbour on Aug. 27.

Though many city resident remain unaware of it, Lambton County is a powerhouse of food production.

Last year Lambton sent more soybeans to market than any other county in Ontario, and was ranked fifth among the province’s 50 food-growing counties in the production of both corn and winter wheat.
