Ottawa has providing some cash for upgrades at Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport.
The $584,000 announced last week will be used to add new asphalt to a runway and part of the main apron, as well as the installation of more and better airfield guidance signs.
The city’s airport is an important regional hub for residents travelling for business and pleasure, said Kate Young, parliamentary secretary to the science and sport minister.
“This investment will help ensure continued safe and reliable airport operations,” she said.
The work is expected to begin once the weather improves.
