Sarnia Transits is testing a pair of new bus shelters on Exmouth Street that are powered by the sun.

Each saves $34 monthly in electricity and avoided $20,000 in repair costs associated with their underground services.

The shelters are the brainchild of maintenance supervisor Ivan Peter and were installed by Unconquered Sun, a subsidiary of Bluewater Power.
