Published on

If you were involved in a traffic accident in Sarnia last year there’s a good chance it occurred Thursday afternoon on Exmouth Street.

Three of the five most collision-prone intersections in the entire city were on Exmouth, according to 2017 statistics compiled by Sarnia Police officers.

The five most dangerous for drivers were:

1 – London & Murphy – 19 collisions

2 – Exmouth & Murphy – 16 collisions

3 – Devine St & Indian – 16 collisions

4 – Exmouth & Lambton Mall Road – 15 collisions

5 – Exmouth & Pontiac Court – 13 collisions

City police took reports on 1,437 collisions involving a total of 2,746 vehicles. Three people died.

Thursdays were the busiest day of the week for road accidents and Sunday the least. About half of them were recorded between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Twenty-four pedestrians, 23 cyclists and 15 motorcyclists were involved in collisions.
