New exhibit opens Friday, June 2, 2pm. “Niswi Ishkoden Niibiing” (Ojibway for “Three Fires by the Water”). The title symbolizes the participation of many talented and accomplished artists from the Aamjiwnaang, Walpole Island and Kettle & Stony Point First Nations. The works respect and reflect the traditions of these communities, interpreting them for a new generation. A variety of media such as painting, drawing, graphite, digital art, basket making and beadwork is included.
Featured artists are John Williams, Moses Lunham, Jeff “Red” George, Ashinique Soney-Weesaw, Teresa Altiman, Jill Joseph, Montana Adams, Robin Blackbird and many more. The show runs until the end of the month. Free admission.
