Lambton Heritage Museum is hosting the PA Day Event Trash to Treasure, What can I do? with local environmentalist Lynn Tremain on Friday, June 9th 2023.
Drop-in to the Museum between 11am and 4pm to participate in two creative activities and reflect on the effects of litter on the environment. The first activity invites children to make a collage using found materials collected off local beaches. The second activity includes designing a small poster with a personal pledge to not litter. Lynn Tremain will be present to discuss her efforts to clean up local beaches and parks, and review ways children can help care for their environment and properly dispose of trash.
“Litter is a problem for the environment here in Lambton County. Local environmentalists like Lynn Tremain dedicated significant time and energy to cleaning it up. Lynn has collected more than 1000 mylar helium balloon remnants since she began picking up trash in April 2021,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Coordinator at Lambton Heritage Museum. “We want this event to encourage children to use their creativity and reflect on this important issue.”
Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, $3 for children and $15 for families. Children three and under are free. Visit our event page for more information.
