The Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site is excited to announce their annual Black Gold Fest will take place Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 11am to 4pm.
This family-friendly community event celebrates our local oil heritage with fun activities for all ages, including lawn games, face-painting, and crafts. Historical blacksmithing demonstrations will run throughout the day at the Blacksmith Shop and a model pipeline display provided by Enbridge Inc. will demonstrate how pipelines operate. A historical re-enactor will play Jacob Lewis Englehart, the man behind Imperial Oil, with shows beginning at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Visitors can round out the day listening to live music and purchasing a treat from one of the local food and drinks vendors on site.
Admission to Black Gold Fest is free and donations are gratefully accepted. For more information, please visit the event page on the Oil Museum’s website.
