The Sarnia School of Irish Dance is proud to present the 2023 edition of “A Celtic Evening” Saturday May 27, at the Imperial Theatre.
The school’s dancers will showcase the beauty of traditional Irish dance, sharing the stage with Highland dancers, Celtic musicians and singers.
This year’s show includes a special guest appearance by multi-instrumentalist and Canadian and US national fiddle champion Shane Cook accompanied by contemporary folk artists Allison Lupton (vocals & Irish flute) and Kyle Waymouth (multi-instrumentalist & 5-time Canadian Open step dance champion).
Formed in 1997, The Sarnia School of Irish Dance is non-competitive and focuses on traditional Irish dance in traditional costumes. Students, ranging in age from four years to adult, receive instruction from accomplished dancer Fiona Doherty. Classes are held Saturdays, September to June, at 500 Exmouth Street Units 14 & 15, Bluewater Dance Academy studios, Noon to 2:45 p.m. Students perform throughout the year at seniors’ residences, and at other venues and special events including Canada Day.
The Celtic Evening is the exciting culmination of a year’s hard work and is staged through the generous, unwavering support of Paddy Flaherty’s Restaurant.
Tickets $25 Adults, $20 Seniors and Students, $80 Group Rate of 4, are available at the Imperial Theatre Box Office.
