Emergency funding announced

More than $8 million in emergency funding was recently announced for communities across Sarnia-Lambton as part of the Safe Restart Agreement through both the federal and provincial governments.

More than $8 million in emergency funding was recently announced for communities across Sarnia-Lambton as part of the Safe Restart Agreement through both the federal and provincial governments.

The money is designated to address municipal operating pressures related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each of Lambton’s 11 municipalities received a boost, including more than $2 million for the City of Sarnia, plus an additional $1.1 million to support transit services.

Point Edward receives $58,900 plus an additional $23,240 for transit.
