Corunna native Derek Drouin added another piece of hardware to his collection, this time a bronze medal in high jump at the IIAF Diamond League series.
The Olympic gold medalist cleared 2.25M at the meet in Oslo, Norway on June 15, good enough for third but well below his personal best of 2.40M.
Drouin tried to bounce back from a disappointing finish in Shanghai, his last stop in the series, where he failed to clear the bar at 2.20M
In an email to CBC Sports, Drouin said the conditions in Shanghai “weren’t favourable for the jumpers,” noting a lot of competitors were slipping and unable to find ideal footing.
"It was a blemish on my record that I quickly tried to put behind me," he said.
