Olympic gold medalist Derek Drouin needs your vote to become the 2016 Syl Apps Ontario Athlete of the Year Award.

The Corunna native was nominated for the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame award and joined an impressive list of athletes including Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak and sprinter Andre De Grasse.

Fans can vote by visiting the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame website at www.oshof.ca. Voting concludes March 31.

Drouin, who’s recently shifted his attention to Decathlon, won gold in high jump at the Rio Olympics last summer.

He became just the sixth high jumper to win Olympic gold without a single missed attempt, finishing with a season-best height of 2.38 m.
