A Toronto driver has been charged in connection with a Highway 402 collision that damaged the Indian Road overpass, provincial police say.
An eastbound transport truck pulling a load struck the overpass on Nov. 23, resulting in serious structural damage.
The impacted highway lanes reopened three days later but traffic on Indian Road remains constricted while the damaged overpass section is rebuilt.
The OPP said the 55-year-old driver has been charged with careless driving. He and Automatic Coating Limited of Toronto are also charged with operating an over-height vehicle and an unsafe commercial motor vehicle.
