Lambton County has received $50,000 to expand its enrichment day programs at Marshall Gowland Manor in Sarnia and Meadowview Villa in Petrolia.

The money from the Local Health Integration Network will allow for an extra day of programming each week, expanding it at Marshall Gowland to include Saturdays.

Day programs include physical and cognitive activities to help residents stay active and stimulated and encourage independence.

The addition is also expected to shorten waitlists for the program, which was attended last year more than 6,700 times, the county said.
