An eroding breakwall and high water has added to the difficulties of the Cull Drain Bridge project. The roadbed and deck have been removed and a crane is expected to lift the bridge frame off its supports in coming days. City council voted in September to spend $230,000 to demolish the unsafe span but save its steel trusses, to be trucked to Mike Weir Park for possible future preservation.
