Crews were called to the facility at 1227 Confederation Street just before 3 p.m. where large plumes of black smoke filled the sky and residents were advised to avoid the area between Murphy Road and Trudeau Drive.

All stations were involve in the response, officials said Thursday, adding that no injuries were reported.

“The fire was contained to Building B with 49 units,” a post from Sarnia Fire Rescue Services noted. “The fire is accidentally in nature with an estimated loss of $2 million.”
