Lambton County has received another $528,000 from Ontario to help keep people housed during the pandemic.

The province’s social services relief funding is discretionary and can be used to protect homeless shelter staff and residents, and buy or renovate shelter facilities.

The county can also use it to support rent banks and create longer-term housing or prepare for future emergencies.

“This additional funding will help ensure everyone can find – and keep – a safe and secure roof over their head,” said Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey.

This is the third allocation from the $510-million province-wide fund meant to support vulnerable people.
