County budget approved

Published on

Lambton County has approved a $188-million budget that includes a 2.52 levy increase.

Councillors placed $5 million in reserves last week and approved grant requests for a suicide prevention drop-in centre, a digital X-ray suite in Newbury and the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership.

The Partnership is getting $155,000 for a new website, a study into a proposed heavy haul corridor to the St. Clair River, and a government relations strategy.

Property taxes in Sarnia are determined by a combination of the city budget, county levy and education taxes.
