Lambton Public Health is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 181.
The deaths toll is unchanged at 14.
Another 87 people have recovered from the virus, a number that has approximately doubled in the past two weeks.
Local health officials are also tracking how the virus is spread.
They have determined that 37% of the confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton were contracted through “close contact” with another infected person.
Another 15.5% were acquired in the community, and 3.9% through travel.
One in four cases (24.9%) are related to outbreaks at three Sarnia long-term care and retirement homes, Landmark Villages, Vision Nursing Home, and Sumac Lodge.
Another 18.8% are still under investigation.
