Revelree Nights is a new monthly concert series that pairs local musicians and DJs with a charity that gets the proceeds.

“Let’s have live music and let’s showcase local talent,” said founder and entrepreneur Scott Palko.

“The whole point of the company is to bring artists and audiences together at every step of the way. From ticket sales, to providing venues for the entertainers to having live music events.”

Revelree Nights began in January and coincides with First Friday, the downtown cultural walkabout held the first Friday of each month.

The concerts are held at 336 Christina St. N, the same building that’s home to Palko’s marketing and design agency, CCI Studios.

Palko, who leases the building, said the large open concept space is not only a good working environment, it’s a terrific events venue.

The former Artopia building with its vibrant red exterior has hosted wedding receptions and a recent music video shoot for Sarnia musician Cory James Mitchell.

“It’s always been in the back of our mind, ‘Hey this would be a great spot to have an… intimate concert venue,” Palko said.

The first three Revelree Nights each attracted about 100 guests and generated about about $500 per charity.

Marty Oblak and DJ Phatfingers are scheduled to perform at the Friday, April 5th event. Tickets are $3.

“For five years we’ve been (downtown), Palko said.

“You can see the physical results, and just the overall vibe of being down there… the pulse and the heartbeat has changed dramatically.

“And I think it’s just getting better.”
