Parts of three city roads will be resurfaced this summer.

The $2.1-million contract awarded to Sarnia-based Cope Construction will see work done on:

CHIPICAN DRIVE – the south half of the loop in Canatara Park.

RIVER ROAD – the “Sun Oil” curve between Vidal Street South and the St. Clair Parkway

CONFEDERATION LINE – between Telfer Road and Waterworks Road.

The existing asphalt is being recycled, a process that sees the old road surface pulverized, reapplied with a liquid asphalt cement, and then overlaid with a new surface layer.

Blackwell Side Road was also identified as a top priority but can’t be rehabilitated and will undergo a complete reconstruction later, the city said.
