City holding a park cleanup day

Sarnia has a community cleanup planned to get city parks ready for the warm days ahead.

Community groups and service clubs are invited to assemble a crew, pick a park, trail or boulevard they’d like to clean, and register it with Parks and Recreation.

Individuals can also join city staff as they spruce up Canatara and Rainbow parks.

The cleanup is Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be capped with a free barbecue at Canatara.

Once registered, gloves, garbage and recycling bags, paint and rakes will be provided.

Local high school students are also being encouraged to volunteer for the Earth Week event.

For more information or to register either as a volunteer or your specific park cleanup site, visit the city website at www.sarnia.ca/ or call Parks & Recreation at 519-332-0330, ext. 3202
