Sarnia has hired a lawyer with an extensive background in employee relations to fill the new position of Director of Corporate Services.

David Logan is currently the chief human resources officer at the Niagara Parks Commission.

He has also work in employee and labour relations at the Wellington Health Care Alliance, Victorian Order of Nurses, Ontario Public Service, and City of Hamilton.

Prior to that, he was a lawyer in private practice.

At City Hall, Logan will oversee a wide range of services, including information technology, customer service, human resources, communications, public relations, and emergency management.

He starts the new job April 8.

The move coincides with the departure of Jim Crawford, who has served as Sarnia’s Human Resources Manager the past three years. His last day is April 9.
