City high school runners finish strong at meet

Northern Collegiate runners dominated the LKSSAA Cross-Country Championship in Blenheim on Oct. 19, with St. Patrick’s and Great Lakes also posting impressive finishes.

Andrew Davies and Caroline Forbes each did the Vikings proud, winning the Senior Boys and Senior Girls titles respectively.

Great Lakes runner Taijah Allen placed first in the Midget Girls run while Owen Norland and Alexandre Guidon of St. Pat’s were 2nd and 3rd in Junior Boys.

In addition to strong individual finishes from Great Lakes and St. Pat’s, Northern had 24 runners place in the top 15 of their respective events, allowing them to secure the fastest team times in four of six events.
