City Hall offering help centre for Sarnia voters

The City of Sarnia has opened a Voter Help Centre located on the first floor at City Hall for anyone who needs assistance with voting in the municipal election.

The centre will operate between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. seven days a week, until Oct. 23, and from 8:30 a.m. ti 8 p.m. on election day, Oct. 24.

Voters will be provided with on-site Internet voting kiosks and assistance, along with help confirming if they’re on the voters’ list.

Assistance will also be provided to process applications to amend the voters’ list, including additions and corrections allowing for an elector to receive a voter information letter including an Internet voting PIN; and, or replace a lost voter information letter.

Residents can also call the Voter Help Centre at 1-877-472-7642.

As of 4 p.m. Monday, a total of 4,330 electors had cast their vote via the Internet voting system, which began Friday, Oct. 14. That represents a participation rate of about 8.06%, the city said.
